Description

Essex County Council (ECC) is seeking to procure services for the treatment and disposal of Persistent Organic Pollutants Waste (POPs). The successful contractor will be required to make arrangements for the safe disposal of up to 6,500 tonnes per annum of waste upholstered domestic seating (or similar) containing or suspected of containing POPs collected from ECC’s network of recycling centres and other collection points including Waste Collection Authority depots and any other third parties as required. All POPs waste will be delivered to the contractor by the Authority, its agents or third parties. The contract is for an initial one (1) year period, and may be extended by agreement in any number of periods not exceeding a total of a further ten (10) years. No exclusivity or guaranteed minimum tonnage will be offered in respect of this contract. The Contractor may be requested to dispose of volumes up to 50% higher than awarded in any contract year by agreement.
