Purchase of veterinary duty services for Vefsn municipality

Description

Vefsn municipality is responsible for organising clinical veterinary duty services. The scheme with veterinary duty services shall ensure that a clinical care for veterinarians is established organised by the municipality so that veterinary help is available outside normal working hours. The veterinary duty service is a necessary part of the preparedness against serious infectious animal diseases and important for maintaining good animal welfare for production animals in the agriculture in the municipality. Lot 1: The municipality is one of the largest agricultural municipalities in Nordland. The number of applicants for production subsidies in agriculture was 62 in 2021, of which 51 with livestock. The number of dairy cows is approx. 586, divided into 18 herds. Other livestock species are suckler cows, sheeps, pigs, horses, some goats and alpacas, a llama and two donkeys. By road, all livestock farms are within a distance of about 45 km from the central area of Mosjøen. For 6 livestock farms (milk / sheeps) on the west side of Vefsnfjorden, in addition to driving, there is a ferry time from 30 - 60 minutes each way. In order to practice the duty scheme in accordance with the current laws and regulations, the contract between the duty districts and the veterinary surgeons will now be carried out as a public procurement. This contract concerns for veterinary duty services for the duty district Vefsn.
