Voluntary ex-ante transparency notice contract for clinical duty services

Vestvågøy municipality will enter into a contract for veterinary duty services in the Lofoten veterinary duty area. Vågan, Vestvågøy, Flakstad, Moskenes and Røst municipalities will be included in the Lofoten veterinary duty area. The municipality is responsible for organising clinical veterinary duty services. The scheme for veterinary duty services is established in accordance with the Act of 15 June 2021 no. 75 Act on veterinarians and other animal health personnel, § 3a. The scheme will ensure that a clinical veterinarian duty service is established nationwide so that essential veterinary help can be obtained outside of regular working hours. The veterinary duty scheme applies from 16:00-08:00 on weekdays as well as on weekends and public holidays. The veterinary duty scheme is a necessary part of the stand-by against serious infectious animal diseases and it is important for maintaining good animal welfare. It is specified that the veterinarians who are part of the duty system have overall responsibility for coordinating the veterinary duty, which includes small animals and production animals. Lot 1: Vestvågøy municipality manages the veterinary duty scheme on behalf of several municipalities in Lofoten. The municipality intends to enter into a contract with the Lofoten Veterinarian District, Solvoll 1, 8376 Leknes 10 days after the publication date as long as no appeals to the contract are received.
