Teknisk avdeling i Helse Bergen HF the Technical Department of Bergen Hospital Trust] is responsible for operation and maintenance of the Translift Hospital KBH2 transporter at Haukeland Universitetssjukehus [Haukeland University Hospital]. The transporter carries specially design transport containers and is a critical part of the operation of Haukeland Universitetssjukehus [Haukeland University Hospital]. Helse Bergen Bergen Hospital Trust] intends to enter into a contract with Automatiserungs- und Fördertechik GmbH & Co. KG for specially adapted chassis parts. The contract duration is four years. The estimated value of the contract is NOK 2,450,000 excluding VAT. The maximum value of the contract is NOK 2,900,000 excluding VAT. Helse Bergen Bergen Hospital Trust] intends to enter into a contract with Automatiserungs- und Fördertechik GmbH & Co. KG for specially adapted chassis parts. The contract duration is four years. The estimated contract value is NOK 2,450,000 excluding VAT. The maximum value of the contract is NOK 2,900,000 excluding VAT. Bergen Hospital Trust has not successfully found other suppliers who can supply drive weeks, brushes, guide rollers or feed rollers that are compatible with the rest of the transporter and still safeguard the functionality of the transporter. Since the transporter is a critical part of the operation of Haukeland University Hospital, there is little room for trial and error of alternative chassis parts. The health authority has tested some alternative products, but the challenge with other parts tested is that they do not live up to the required wear resistance, and the adaptation has not be satisfactory enough to ensure functionality. The contract is therefore exempt from a contest as competition is not possible due to technical reasons, cf. the Public Procurement Regulations § 13-4 (b) 2.
