Watercourse Restoration and Improvements

Portsmouth Water is seeking interest from contractors to restore and improve existing watercourses affected by the new Havant Thicket Reservoir project. Lot 1: Watercourse restoration and improvement - Reaches over 300 metres On reaches of river/streams over 300 metres in length a combination of the following civils and environmental works will be required: - removal of concrete bed and banks - replacement of headwalls - reprofiling bed and banks - redistribution of bed materials - erosion protection measures - new channel creation and backwater features - removal of trees and coppicing - replanting (environmental work) - addition of wood into channels - pond creation - localised back excavation and reprofiling - flood plain excavation - removal of existing bank protection Lot 2: Watercourse restoration and improvement - Reaches up to 300 metres On reaches of rivers/streams up to 300 metres in length a combination of the following civils and environmental works will be required: - removal of concrete bed and banks - replacement of headwalls - reprofiling bed and banks - redistribution of bed material - erosion protection measures - new channel creation and backwater features - removal of trees and coppicing - replanting (environmental work) - addition of wood into channels - pond creation - localised bank excavation and reprofiling - flood plain excavation - removal of existing bank protection
