Early Design Work for Witton and Aston Stations

Description

To support decision-making by the funders at WMCA and in turn, to support AVFC in their decision to proceed with their stadium upgrade project, we require a costed concept design for Witton and Aston Stations to be approved through WMCA governance by October 2025. This design should demonstrate an upgraded and safe solution for passengers in time for the Euros and the longer-term commitment for upgrades to Witton station. In particular, the solution should mitigate the high number of pedestrians and passengers who occupy and block Witton Road post-event to improve the safety of travel through Witton on event days. This may include interventions at Aston and a complementary operating strategy across both stations
