Capital Purchase of Phones and Cases for EPMA

In 2023, Cardiff and Vale University Health Board undertook a transformational procurement of the Electronic Prescribing and Medicines Administration (ePMA) system, enabling the digitalisation of traditional paper-based drug charts across the organisation. This innovation significantly enhances the safe and efficient administration of medicines, providing a fully auditable trail from Pharmacist to Nurse. The project, now in its final implementation phase and successfully embedded within the University Hospital of Wales, requires the procurement of additional mobile devices to support full rollout. This award is for 300 refurbished Iphones, each to be supplied with infection-control–compliant protective cases. These devices will form an essential component of the overall project infrastructure, ensuring seamless integration and consistent access to the ePMA system across clinical areas.
