Description

The blood weigher mixers are used to constantly mix and weigh whole blood as it is being collected from a blood donor. This User Requirement Specification (URS) details the requirements purchase, installation, commissioning and validation of a blood weigher mixer. The blood pack is agitated during the donation process, the weight/volume of the pack is determined and the clamp terminates the collection when a particular pre-set blood volume or the maximum donation time limit has been reached. The flow rate during the donation is monitored and controlled. During the donation process a pause period is allowed, this allows time for the labelling of each pack in a safe and accurate manner.
