This tender provides a statement of requirements for a peatland restoration project with a site area of 95 ha (of which 55.8 ha have erosion features that are to be restored) to be delivered on Wildland’s Lynaberack Estate in the Cairngorms National Park. The work will be tendered on a day rate basis. The works will commence in mid-August 2025 with an expected completion date by the start of December 2025 (to avoid being impacted by snow and ice). A minimum of 3 low-ground pressure machines will be needed to complete the project within the required timeline (210 machine days on erosion features). Lot 1: This tender provides a statement of requirements for a peatland restoration project with a site area of 95 ha (of which 55.8 ha have erosion features that are to be restored) to be delivered on Wildland’s Lynaberack Estate in the Cairngorms National Park. A considerable volume of hand labour is required, which will demand careful planning and a commitment from a hand labour team of at least 2 people to be present on site throughout most of the project timeline. There will also be considerable time spent on the preparation and movement of material in the correct order to ensure the successful implementation of the project. Hand labour days have been estimated for each activity based on the average rate of installation of hand labour features from previous projects. These averages will vary based on the skillset and experience of the hand labour team, and tenders should take that into consideration. Peatland ACTION funding is secured and in place for this project.
