Description
The Aberystwyth University Department of Life Sciences (AU DLS), together with allied departments within Aberystwyth University perform histological analyses of various tissue types from all Kingdoms of Life. To underpin our broad research portfolio, we require a histological processing platform for sample preparation from pre-embedding (dehydration, clearing and paraffin wax infiltration), embedding in paraffin wax and sectioning on an automated microtome. AU DLS process tissues for basic histological staining, immunochemical detection and in situ hybridisation with samples spanning a wide range of sizes from fruit-fly brain sized to blocks of equine endometrial and uterine tissue (for example) for single sections per slide.
