Description
LGPS members are currently permitted to contribute to a standard AVC scheme and receive Income Tax relief on their contributions. AVCs are a long-term pension savings plan that runs alongside the main LGPS scheme and allows members to build up a 100% tax free capital sum. On retirement, they can access the benefits through a range of options including the ability to receive the lump sum in most cases.
