Procurement of special machines, long excavators for NVE

In connection with the landslide accident at Gjerdrum and further work and progress there, NVE has determined to procure two special machines, long excavators. It is estimated each machine will run for 1,000 hours per year. It is preferable to lease the machines, alternatively rent. NVE is an emergency organisation. Delivered machines will be part of the emergency preparedness. Operational reliability and uptime are a significant factor. NVE will therefore reserve the right to be prioritised in the event of downtime of machines with a service contract. The value of the procurement, i.e. Rent/lease two long excavators for five years (i.e. Contract time plus option) is estimated to be between NOK 5 million and NOK 7 million excluding VAT.
