Dumfries and Galloway Council intend to appoint a removal firm for the following requirement in the next couple of months. DGCP-0625 Dumfries High School Resource Relocation. This Prior Information Notice (PIN) has been issued to determine the level of interest in the opportunity from suitable bidders with the appropriate capability, resources, and experience, and to identify interested parties. Lot 1: This contract consists of a large-scale removal/relocation service of school items from the existing Dumfries High School to the New Dumfries High School, the distance between the schools is 0.2 miles, the services anticipated to be carried out are: Spaces to relocate: Classrooms: 51 total (33 general, 18 practical). Specialist Areas: Science, Home Economics, Craft Design & Technology, PE, Production Kitchen. Other Spaces: Library, storerooms, offices, meeting rooms, plant rooms Items to Move: Teaching resources, books, equipment, small appliances including white goods, consumables, Sports Equipment etc Furniture: There is no requirement to dismantle, move or rebuild furniture (new furniture will be installed in the new school). Confidential Waste: There is no requirement to manage or dispose of confidential waste. Responsibility: Teachers will pack their own resources and label; movers handle boxes and transport. Total Internal Area: 13,400 m² across multiple levels with a single passenger lift. Timescales: Dumfries & Galloway Council have requested 4 closure days (non-pupil days – Teacher will remain) Key Dates Handover 29th May 2026. Closure Days Monday 1st Tuesday 2nd Wednesday 3rd Thursday 4th June Friday 5th June Pupils First day It is anticipated that this process will be conducted under non-regulated procurement through Quick Quote function through Public Contracts Scotland (PCS).
