Killala Harbour Regeneration, Water Sports and Floating Walkway Feasibility Study

This project will assess the existing facilities, infrastructure and development potential of Killala Harbour and its surrounding coastal environment, with the aim of preparing a Strategic Development Framework for its sustainable regeneration and enhancement. The study will examine opportunities to improve harbour infrastructure, recreation, tourism, marine activities and community amenities, while ensuring environmental protection within the adjacent SAC and SPA designated areas. Key elements include topographical surveying, development planning, a concept proposal for water sports facilities, and a feasibility assessment of a potential floating walkway linking the harbour to Ross Beach. The resulting framework will provide a roadmap for future investment, phased delivery and the long-term development of Killala as a key coastal destination in North Mayo.
