Training simulators

Description

The Maritime Training Acquisition Organisation (MTAO), within the Maritime Combat Systems (MCS) Team has a potential requirement for provision of through life support to Royal Navy (RN) training systems. The training systems consist of classroom based trainers, bespoke training systems and training simulators for a range of RN equipments and platforms. The requirement involves support to training systems including both legacy and new systems located at various MOD establishments, as well as provision of technical support with a focus on training services. The contractor may be required to provide, for example, the following services: — In service support (including obsolescence management, document management, post design services, technical support, etc.); — Provision of spares incl. COTS hardware; — Repair services; — Technical refresh studies and implementation programmes; — Capability upgrades; — Conduct training studies and Training Needs Analysis (TNA). This requirement known as Maritime Training Systems Through-Life Availability and Support Service (MARTASS) may be part of a phased approach to deliver a broader range of training support capability potentially including future platforms such as Queen Elizabeth Class and Type 26. It is anticipated that the support contract will be for awarded in FY 17/18, for a period of 5 years, with an option to extend for a further 2 years. This PIN is to alert the market to the potential future requirement and is Not a formal request for Expressions of Interest (EOI). A Contract Notice and Dynamic PQQ may be issued in due course to request EOIs which shall reference this PIN.
