Network infrastructure

The Avanti Schools Trust are looking to completely refresh their current networking and wireless infrastructure for Krishna Avanti Primary School, Leicester, in order to provide a more efficient and secure solution, which will meet current demands whilst being scalable to cover any enhancements required over the next 5-10 years. The current infrastructure within the schools is a mix of vendors and models which has caused both difficulties in management and keeping the Trust secure from security vulnerabilities. The new proposal encompasses an end to end Meraki solution which can all be monitored and managed from a single online platform, the Trust has standardised on Meraki across all schools. The solution includes but is not limited to a new firewall, core switch, access switches and access points. As part of the works, surveys have been conducted to best plan for the deployment of the solution. There will also be cabling work taking place to upgrade existing aged cabling to Cat6 level to provide industry standard quality throughout. All configuration work is taking place pre-install with the physical installations due to take place within school holidays to avoid disruption. All design work has taken into account the latest DfE recommendations and has been designed in compliance.
