PSR Competitive Process for Outsourced Postal Methane & Hydrogen Breath Testing Services for YSTH The Relevant Authority is commissioning a specialist postal diagnostic service for hydrogen and methane breath testing to support the diagnosis and management of gastrointestinal conditions across York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (YSTHFT). The service will provide end-to-end postal breath testing, including: • Hydrogen & Methane breath test for SIBO (ca. 80% of volume) • Lactose intolerance breath test (ca. 8% of volume) • Fructose intolerance breath test (ca. 8% of volume) • Optional: Helicobacter pylori (urea breath test) (ca. 2% of volume) • Optional: Gastric emptying breath test (ca. 2% of volume) Providers must supply a complete pathway including. The Provider must meet the following minimum standards: Mandatory (Pass/Fail): • CQC registration for GI physiology or equivalent relevant pathway • Clinical governance framework covering postal diagnostics • Evidence of appropriate indemnity insurance • Ability to provide the complete pathway (dispatch, analysis, reporting) Preferred / Weighted in Scoring: • IQIPS accreditation for GI physiology • UKAS accreditation for relevant laboratory tests • Demonstrable NHS experience delivering breath testing services Full details available in the ITT Document Set.
