Procurement, installation and Maintenance for Warm Water Cooling Infrastructure at LRZ

Description

The current water cooling infrastructure in the NSR1 computer room requires reworking for increased water flow and improved efficiency. This will be achieved by installing a CoolManager Heat Exchange System including pumps. To assure the high water quality needed for direct feed of the water into computational systems, the existing black steel piping infrastructure must be replaced by stainless steel piping with a larger pipe width. Ancillary equipment for water quality management and heat flow measurements is included. Lot 1: Delivery and installation of a 1000 kW heat exchanger, permitting a delta T of 6 °C between inlet and outlet, including any supporting construction needed, plus - redundant main pumps - water filters 50 µm - degassing unit, expansion vessel, and security valve - heat metering equipment (2 units for high flow rate, 14 for lower flow rate on the outlet level) - stainless steel tubing DN 150 supplying the rows 15 and 16 of the computer room with a total of 36 DN65 outlets - adjustable valves for control of outlet-specific and lead pipe water flow - up-level integration with the building water circuit - removal of legacy tubing Furthermore, the necessary management equipment must be delivered: - control enclosure with regulation electronics - pH and conductivity measurement equipment - volumometric heat metering - redundant power supply
