In der Stadtentwässerung und Umweltanalytik Nürnberg (SUN) wird das BHKW 1 und BHKW 2 gemeinsam mit einem Rückkühler gekühlt. Da der alte Rückkühler (Notkühler) nicht mehr die geforderten Immissionsgrenzwerte einhält, soll der alte Kühler von BHKW 1 und BHKW 2 im Zuge der Revision BHKW 1 und 2 ausgetauscht werden.
