Provision of Leicestershire Holiday Activities and Food Programme – Holiday Clubs

The Council has set up a Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS) for the Leicestershire Holiday Activities and Food Programme to supply Holiday Club places to children resident in Leicestershire who are eligible to receive benefits-related free school meals. HAF holiday provision is for school aged children from reception to year 11 (inclusive). The offer of free HAF holiday club provision should be available for all Leicestershire children in receipt of benefits-related free school meals, although this does not mean we expect all to attend as the provision is voluntary. We are seeking provision to be delivered across the County and particularly targeting areas of greatest need. Holiday club provision must provide each child with, • A healthy meal • Engaging and enriching activities • Opportunities to be physically active • Nutritional education Provision must also ensure that each child’s family: • develop their understanding of health and nutrition • are signposted towards other information and support, for example, health, employment, and education
