Description
The Council wishes to procure a Framework for providers of Highways Temporary Traffic Management to support in-house highways maintenance (further details below). The Council will hold a virtual supplier engagement event via Microsoft Teams on Monday 09 June 2025 from 14:00 - 15:00 (BST). The purpose of the event is to provide an opportunity for the council to engage with the wider market about Temporary Traffic Management Services before the Invitation To Tender is published. We look forward to welcoming you at the event. JOINING INSTRUCTIONS: Please ensure you register an expression of interest by emailing: capital.commercial@westmorlandandfurness.gov.uk by 16:00 on Thursday 05 June 2025, including the email address of attendees. The link to join the Teams call will be sent to all those who have registered. Westmorland and Furness Council is responsible for the strategic local services within the Council boundaries. The highways team within the Council is responsible for a highway's asset comprising over 4,343km of road. In house operational teams carry out a variety of maintenance works across the county. Maintaining the safety of the public and the Council's staff is a key consideration in delivering these works. Often these works require only very basic temporary traffic management measures which are carried out by the in-house teams. However more substantial works or works on busier streets require temporary traffic management works that are beyond their expertise and qualifications and require equipment not held by the in-house teams. For these schemes external specialist contractors are required to carry out the required temporary traffic management. Keywords: Temporary Traffic Management
