Cleeves Riverside Quarter Phase 1 Stabilisation and Repair Works (Flaxmill)

Description

The project involves the stabilisation, consolidation, and repair of the listed historic Flaxmill building, constructed in 1853. Key works include full encapsulation scaffolding around and over the building’s perimeter to facilitate repairs safely and effectively. The project also encompasses masonry repair, roof reconstruction as a warm roof, removal of asbestos materials, and the preservation of historical features such as through-wall vents and Roman cement render. Additional works include the repair of the second-floor structural deck, remediation of cast iron gutters and parapets, and reinstatement of historically blocked windows. All works aim to reinstate the building to a shell state while maintaining its heritage integrity, adhering to strict conservation standards. Contractors are to adhere to the buildings protection status and importance.
