Description

The University wishes to appoint a competent contractor(s) for the provision of cleaning services. Cleaning requirements for the University's buildings is apportioned by a hybrid mix of in-house and out-sourced services. This proposed contract covers the out-sourced cleaning requirements of the University and is divided into the following 2 Lots: Lot 1: Lot 1 is for the provision of Bar Cleaning Services to the Students' Union. The Students' Union (SU) is sited at 77-87 University Road and caters for the needs of the University's student population. During term time, it is open 7 days per week providing catering, bar facilities, entertainment, bookable rooms, advice centre and a retail shop. The building also contains several tenant retailers including a bookshop, 2 cafes and a beauty salon. Students' Union events and activities run throughout the year with a more concentrated programme during the academic year, normally running from September to May. Lot 2: Lot 2 is for the provision of daytime cleaning and ancillary services to University Buildings. The following areas are currently included; Lennoxvale, Rugby Road, Botanic Avenue, University Road, Fitzwilliam Street, College Park, University Street, Malone Sports, ECIT, RVH site and the Marine Biology Centre in Portaferry. The University also has a requirement for a number of demand type services that the contractor will be called upon to perform, for example; deep and high level cleaning and flood restoration. There are also some ancillary services, including barrier matting, supply and laundry of roller towels and outdoor janitor duties. Tenderers are invited to tender for either Lot 1 or Lot 2 or both. Lots will be evaluated independently and the University reserves the right to award each Lot separately. Tenderers should note that the University Estate is continuously evolving with new buildings being added and old ones removed. The University offers no guarantee that the current volume of work will continue throughout the period of the contract.
