Harrow Community Paediatrics Services

Description

The contract is to provide the following Paediatric services for Harrow CCG population: • Children's Nursing Service • Consultant Paediatrics • Paediatric Occupational Therapy • Paediatric Speech & Language Therapy • Paediatric Physiotherapy Lot 1: Community Children's Services: Children's Nursing Service providing specialist community nursing support to CYP with acute short term conditions, long term conditions, disabilities and complex conditions (including requirement for continuing care), life-limiting & life-threatening illnesses, palliative and end of life care. Team includes children's community nursing for palliative care, and specialist community children's nursing fordiabetes, respiratory and neuro-disability and a paediatric asthma nurse working with children to improve their asthma control and reduce their reliance on emergency care. Consultant Paediatrics providing paediatric assessment, diagnosis and management and ongoing support for children and young people including children with special educational needs and children with emotional and behavioural difficulties. The service is responsible for the assessment, including investigation and diagnosis, of underlying neurodevelopmental problem. Paediatric Occupational Therapy assessment and treatment service for CYP with autistic spectrum disorders, social communication disorders, special needs or specific developmental disorders. The services will provide functional and needs-led assessment for the identification of the therapeutic needs of children and young people who have a functional difficulty with self-care, accessing school activities or taking part in leisure activities. Paediatric Speech & Language Therapy assessment and treatment service for CYP (0-19) with complex communication and/or swallowing problems providing assessment and treatment for CYP with speech, language and communication needs. Paediatric Physiotherapy assessment and treatment for CYP with disabilities, respiratory, neuro-developmental, neuromuscular and orthopaedic needs, including development delay, neuro-disabilities, respiratory needs, Neurological and Neuromuscular conditions, orthopaedic conditions and gait disorders and Torticollis. Additional information: The indicative contract value of £10.02m is for the 2-year contract duration.
