Description

To provide a fully managed service for the collection and disposal or destruction of Specialist Waste, including Radioactive Waste for the National Armaments Directorate within the Ministry of Defence as well as for certain Declarers at other UK locations. The service will primarily cover Great Britain, with occasional collections in Northern Ireland. This will be a fully managed service. It will include administration and a customer interface delivering a compliant and cost-effective solution. The service scope includes transportation, storage prior to disposal and final disposal of waste. Types of waste to be managed include, but are not limited to: Specialist Waste: Body Armour, Visors, Stab Vests, Surveillance System components, cryptographic equipment, classified paper waste, discarded equipment. Radioactive Waste: broken dials, dials painted with radioactive materials, thorium coated lenses, tritium light sources or beta lights. Dials, watches and compasses. Valves and cockpit gauges.
