Circus Entertainment at Southsea Common and King George V Playing Fields, Cosham - 2022

Portsmouth City Council is inviting tenders from suitably qualified suppliers to deliver circuses and associated entertainment at Southsea Common and King George V Playing Fields, Cosham. Three events are planned for the 2022 season, two at Southsea Common and one at King George V Playing Fields. Suppliers can bid for one, two of three events. Event 1 : Southsea Common - Operating period of up to 2 weeks and 4 days between dates of 15th April - 2nd May 2022 Event 2 : Southsea Common - Operating period of up to 2 weeks between dates of 12th September - 26th September 2022 Event 3 : King George V Playing Fields - Operating period of 1 week between dates of 17th June - 19th August 2022 Historically, the two locations have lent themselves to different types of events. Southsea Common has typically favoured traditional big top events aimed at a wide audience, with King George V Playing Fields hosting a smaller event aimed at families and younger audiences. With this in mind, the Council is offering each event as a separate Lot. Suppliers should clearly indicate which event is the subject of their bid and where necessary, indicate their preference on a ranked basis. The Council's preference is to secure a programme that provides a varied offer of events in the City, and as a result of this tender the Council may instruct one, two or three separate suppliers. The initial Contract period will be for one year with the possibility of extending the term by a further two years to a maximum total term of three years in annual increments to be agreed, subject to the agreement and performance of both parties. Events for future years will be determined on an annual basis. The Council cannot provide any commitments or guarantees regarding availability of future events or their dates. This is a concession opportunity that generates an income to the Council.
