Description

Thames Water (TWUL) delivers a dual-skilled apprenticeship programme in either Mechanical, Electrical and ICA for 65 apprentices across both Wholesale Waste and Wholesale Water. Our current service requires a supplier to manage and deliver the TWUL ME&I apprenticeship and to complete delivery. We support 32 employees through upskilling programmes to achieve a Level 3 NVQ, therefore there will be a need for the supplier to deliver future upskilling training. The TWUL Engineering Apprenticeship must be mapped to Trailblazer standards by 2018. The service provider must be approved by the Skills Funding Agency (SFA) and be accepted onto the Register of Apprenticeship Training Providers (RoATP). With the introduction of the new apprenticeship levy funding TWUL will be introducing upskilling and apprenticeship programmes across the business. The service provider must have the capability to support and deliver a wide range of programmes that are mapped to the new trailblazer standard. The service provider will manage the TWUL apprenticeship scheme within Wholesale Waste and Wholesale Water. The supplier will work with apprentices to achieve qualifications in either Mechanical, Electrical or ICA qualifications: — Year 1 Classroom full time with regular visits from the contractor to check quality of learning. — Year 2 Classroom one day a week with site visits to the learner every 6 weeks to begin assessment process. — Year 3-4 workplace Level 3 NVQ Assessments carried out in the workplace. We are expecting a new intake of 36 apprentices from September 2017, therefore the supplier is required to support new yearly intakes. The TWUL Engineering Apprenticeship must be mapped to Trailblazer standards by 2018.
