Design services for ACF CR3 Dry Air Cooler Replacement

The University of Edinburgh (Building Services Group) has appointed a contractor to provide Building Services Design Consultancy Services to redesign the cooling system serving Computer Room 3 (CR3) at the Advanced Computer Facility (ACF), located at the University of Edinburgh Easter Bush Campus. This includes surveys of the existing system and controls, desktop reviews of the existing system information and a design to RIBA Stage 3 with associated costings. The contract includes provision to extend services up to RIBA Stage 7, subject to the availability of future funding and the necessary approvals. Contract Period The contract start date is 26th March 2026, to allow the supplier to complete the cooling system redesign to RIBA stage 3 by 25th September 2026. The call-off contract commenced on 26th March 2026 and shall continue for a period of up to five (5) years (until 25th March 2031), or until completion of the Services (including any instructed Stages 4–7), whichever occurs sooner.
