Description

Bergen kommune, Etat for utbygging [Bergen municipality, the Agency for Urban Development] hereby invites tenderers to participate in a competition for a contract for an engineering design group for the project B0960 Laksevåg barnehage [Laksevåg nursery school]. The building is a neighbourhood nursery school located in a built-up area without access to available sites that could be used for nursery school purposes. The nursery school consists of two houses, the main house in Sverre Hjetlands vei and the department at Solhaug. This project concerns the main house with 58 children divided across four departments. The property contains one building erected in 1940 with a total of 802 m2 GFA. The house was built as a German residence in 1940 and was converted into a nursery school in 1949. The building has formal protection status in accordance with the Planning and Building Act and is covered by the Conservation zone Cultural Environment (H570) in the applicable municipal plan (KPA2018). The design/plan of the building is not flexible in regard to reconstruction and area use is problematic. As it is, the building is currently poorly suited to nursery school purposes. A condition report prepared in 2015 in connection with the survey of municipal buildings reveals a great need for upgrading. Miljørettet Helsevern (MHV) [the Environmental Health Authority] has indicated several factors considered to be non-conforming. After the site inspection at the nursery school on 29 October 2019, MHV recommends no further operation in the nursery school building due to the current condition of the building.
