Billingham South Community Primary School: Ceiling Replacement Phase 1

Stockton on Tees Borough Council is seeking bids for the provision of  replacing the ceilings to 2Nr Classrooms including the removal of Asbestos and reinstatement of finishes In early 2025, several incidents occurred where sections of the lath and plaster ceilings fell into classrooms, fortunately while the school was unoccupied. This prompted further investigations and a structural assessment of all lath and plaster ceilings throughout the school. The assessment concluded that remedial works were required to stabilise the ceilings and prevent further collapse. To further compound the issue, an asbestos survey identified contamination within the loft spaces resulting from historic mechanical and electrical installation works. This project represents the first phase of a long-term programme of works aimed at providing a safe environment for the school's occupants and those responsible for maintaining the building in the future. ## Contract award
