Summary of the work Working in a DWP project team, delivering topics and iterative improvements to the Digital chatbot and end user knowledge held within the ServiceNow toolset, working on a defined set of priorities owned and managed by the DWP. Aim is to increase self service and support improvements to the Digital chatbot. Specialist role Business analyst Expected Contract Length 3 Month Contract Latest start date Monday 3 April 2023 Maximum Day Rate £500 inside of IR35 Who Speclialist Work With You will be working as part of an internal multidisciplinary project team focused on making improvements to the Digital chatbot. Increasing topics available and introducing search for knowledge aligned to Knowledge Management Style Guide, in line with the new principles part of recent Knowledge transformation activity. The project team will plan and define the scope of work with priority on the topics that are most used or those that align with the higher incident generating services. Further activity will be driven to improve DWP end-user self service removing unnecessary contact and increasing adoption of chatbot within the digital platform . What Specialists Work On Increase self-service and remove advice and guidance from channels currently supported by human intervention. Identify and translate business problems and user needs within the Tech place platform into a set of detailed requirements to delivering value and great outcomes. Lead workshops, interviews, focus groups to effectively understand business problems and user needs. Develop and maintain stakeholder relationships, communicating effectively with technical and business stakeholders. Gain a good understanding of business processes and activities that impact the product or service. Selecting the appropriate techniques to model business processes, identifying potential process improvements. Collaborate with the Project Manager contributing towards prioritisation activities. Skills & Experience • Utilise Agile methodologies, agreed within the wider multi-disciplinary team. • Lead workshops, interviews, focus groups and other techniques to effectively understand the business problems and user needs. • Translate the business problem and user needs into a set of detailed requirements for the solution that align to best practice methodology, • Appropriate use of epics, features, user stories and defined acceptance criteria. • Manage stakeholder relationships, ensuring alignment across business and technical stakeholders. Ensure issues and risks raised are resolved in an appropriate manner. • Document and consult on requirements in a layout and format that can be easily understood by all stakeholders • Capturing user needs using the "as a..., I can...., so that..." syntax and defining appropriate acceptance criteria using the "GIVEN, WHEN, THEN" syntax • Ensure that you understand and follow the principles of the INVEST model. • Communicate effectively across both technical and business stakeholders, ensuring the understanding of requirements and acceptance criteria is aligned. • Understand business processes and activities that impact and that are impacted by the product or service. • Selecting the appropriate best practice techniques to model business processes, existing and new, in order to achieve consensus. • As part of the modelling process, work to identify potential process improvements, considering risks, issues and benefits. • Support in the production of business cases, this includes market analysis from a technical and non-technical point of view and producing cost/benefit analysis for proposed solutions. • Advise the Product Owner in agreeing the suitable mix of epics, features & stories for each sprint, as well as active contribution towards prioritisation activities. • Be responsible for improving your own knowledge of Business Analysis and Agile principles, methods and tools. • Play an active role within the BA community, helping to run activities within the practice and support with recruitment related activities where required. • Develop an understanding of the software lifecycle and leverage it to form a an end to end view of the product or service. Work Location Manchester HUB 2 St Peter’s Square Manchester - M2 3AA or Peel Park Control Centre, Brunel Way, Blackpool, Lancashire - FY4 5ES Working Arrangments Working arrangements will be a blend of remote working and working from the Manchester or Blackpool HUB site, you will spend roughly 40% of your time onsite and 60% at home.
