ARCHITECT, ENGINEERING AND PROFESSIONAL SERVICES FOR UHI SHETLAND FUTURE CAMPUS PROJECT PHASE 1

Description

UHI Shetland are seeking to establish a Contract for the Provision of Architectural, Engineering and Professional Services for Phase 1, Design Phase, of it's Future Campus Project. Lot 1: UHI Shetland currently has two campuses, one based in the outskirts of Lerwick, Gremista, and one in Scalloway. As part of the UHI Shetland’s Strategic Strategy 2030 and Business Recovery Plan, the College Board, in June 2023, ratified the decision that the College’s future needs would be best met by a move to a single campus provision. The proposal is to a create a modern campus, with high quality learning and training facilities and innovative approaches to digital and distance learning, tailored to the specific needs of Shetland’s communities, on the Scalloway site, supported by delivery in a number of locations in the heart of Lerwick. This will involve transforming the existing spaces at the Scalloway campus to increase the efficiency of their use whilst both increasing the attractiveness of the campus for traditional, on-campus students and, through the integration of new technologies, enable a greater degree of outreach to our more remote learners and island businesses. This will entail the re-configuration of rooms and spaces, the re-commissioning of several unused buildings on the site, as well as the relocation of specialist teaching facilities, from the Gremista site, on to the Scalloway site. The Scope of Work for Phase 1, Design Phase, of the Future Campus project is RIBA Stages 1 to 3: Stage 1 - Preparation and Briefing Stage 2 - Concept Design Stage 3 - Spatial Coordination
