Description
This is a Provider Selection Regime (PSR) intended to award notice. The awarding of this contract is subject to the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023. For the avoidance of doubt, the provisions of the Procurement Act do not apply to this award. In accordance with Regulation 10 of The Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023, Hull City Council is looking to award a contract under the Most Suitable Provider process as the Council is able to identify the most suitable provider without running a competitive exercise, for the provision of NHS Health Check Services. The contract is anticipated to commence 10th November 2025 ending by 9th April 2027. The Authority has estimated the value of the services to be £140,000. The publication of this notice marks the start of the standstill period. Representations by providers must be made to decision makers (please email procurementteam@hullcc.gov.uk) by midnight on 7th November 2025. This contract has not yet formally been awarded; this notice serves as an intention to award under the PSR. Lot 1: The NHS Health Check programme is a nationally mandated Public Health programme in England commissioned by Local Authorities. It is one of the largest prevention programmes of its type in the world, designed to help prevent and detect early signs of heart disease, kidney disease, Type 2 diabetes and dementia. Although the NHS Health Check is a national programme, the Council wishes to commission a Service that best suits the needs of the local population. The programme gives an opportunity to help people to live longer, healthier lives. It aims to improve health and wellbeing through the promotion of earlier awareness, assessment and management of the major risk factors and conditions driving premature death, and health inequalities in England. Health Checks provide a systematic mechanism for identifying and managing people with the common risk factors driving disease such as; cardiovascular disease (CVD), stroke, type 2 diabetes, kidney disease and dementia. The eligible cohort includes people aged 40 to 74 years who have no previous diagnosis of vascular disease.
