Description

Community Dermatology Service for the paediatric and adult population provides a multidisciplinary consultant led community dermatology service. The services manages all the cases which do not require a hospital facility to manage them and cannot be managed in primary care. The scope of the service covers: • A one stop consultant-led community dermatology service • Treatment of all patients over the age of 12 • Minor surgery and skin biopsy • Clinical triage to assess all dermatology referrals • Assessment, investigation and treatment of all patients with skin diseases, except patch testing, phototherapy, anti TNF therapy and complex cases • Education of practices through providing comprehensive referral feedback where appropriate, materials to support GPs and regular education sessions • Supporting patients around management of skin disease through the provision of information resources. • Provide information and support about self-care, prevention of skin disease and on-going management of long term skin conditions to healthcare professionals and patients. Lot 1: Along with 7 other CCGs in the area, NHS Hounslow CCG is to be incorporated into a new CCG from 1st April 2021 - North West London Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG). A period of review is required from April 2021 to agree the future model of care and to identify the commissioning strategies for urgent care services across NW London for the coming year and beyond. The existing contract is therefore being modified to extend its duration for an interim period of 6 months in order to enable this review to take place. This modification is necessary to ensure continuity of these critical Community Dermatology services for local patients. The CCG has considered its obligations under the NHS (Procurement Patient Choice and Competition) (No.2) Regulations 2013 and assesses that the incumbent provider offers the safest solution to ensure this continuity at this time, particularly having regard to the priorities and resource pressures associated with the local NHS response to COVID-19. This contract modification is assessed to be proportionate and lawful under Regulation 72(1)(b) Additional information: This Notice confirms a modification to extend an incumbent provider's existing contract which has been in place for the last 3 years, for a further 6 months until 30 September 2021. This process will be achieved through variation procedure with the incumbent service provider. The existing contract has had an overall value of £1.755m, with the additional 6 months increasing this by £292,500
