Description

Remedial works to an external cast iron staircase originally dating circa 1836 to a protected school building. Stairs follow a T-shaped plan with decorative handrails and steps. The NIAH have referenced the staircase as being of particular interest and “which is the most notable concession to artistic design in the entire building”. Works will involve the dismantling of the stairs in-situ, carriage away to workshop, repair/renewal, carriage back to site for re-erection.
