Provision of Services for LIFE On Machair Project Officer for North Mayo to support delivery of project actions - North Mayo (Mullet and Inishkeas) sites

Description

The LIFE On Machair Project of Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage, is looking for suitable service provider to support delivery of project actions (C Conservation and E Education and Awareness actions) including the LIFE on Machair Restoration Programme; associated workshops and restoration interventions; and community engagement for the LIFE On Machair project North Mayo sites: - The Mullet Peninsula- (part of the Mullet/Blacksod Bay Complex SAC, including Termoncarragh Lake and Annagh Machair SPA, and overlapping with part of the Blacksod Bay/Broad Haven SPA and the Mullet Peninsula SPA); - Inishkea North and South island (Inishkea Islands SAC and Inishkea Islands SPA). The tenderer must demonstrate capacity to provide systematic and sustained assistance and support within each Project sites listed above for the contract duration: Two year contract (starting mid-October 2023). Context: The LIFE ON Machair project funded by the European Commission’s LIFE fund and led by National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) will restore some of Europe’s most unique coastal habitats and will protect breeding waders and pollinators in northwest Ireland. The LIFE On Machair project aims to protect and restore machair systems inside the Natura 2000 network in Ireland (SAC’s/SPA’s), with a particular focus on machair habitat, breeding waders and pollinators.
