Dumfries and Galloway Council is seeking to engage with the market to better understand the available options for the supply and distribution of milk to Council establishments across the region, including schools, nurseries, and other educational settings. The Council is undertaking this engagement exercise to inform the development of a future procurement strategy and to ensure that the chosen delivery model meets operational requirements, sustainability objectives, and delivers best value. Lot 1: he Council wishes to obtain feedback from suppliers and other interested parties on potential supply and delivery models, including but not limited to: Direct delivery from producers or distributors. Regional or local supply solutions. Consolidated distribution arrangements. Sustainable and low-carbon delivery approaches. Opportunities to support local food and drink suppliers. Innovative solutions that improve service resilience and efficiency. Information gathered through this engagement will assist the Council in determining: The most appropriate route to market. The optimum contract structure and duration. The preferred supply and delivery model. Opportunities to support community wealth building and sustainability objectives. Any potential barriers to participation within the future procurement process.. The future requirement is expected to include the supply and distribution of milk to educational establishments throughout Dumfries and Galloway.
