Description

A simple, molecular quick test is to be procured for influenza and the respiratory syncytial virus for the emergency department at Oslo University Hospital, Ullevål. The equipment will be used by duty doctors and nurses. It must be easy to use. The intention of introducing a quick test in the emergency department is to simplify patient flow as regards infection control and isolation in the influenza season. The equipment must be based on molecular diagnostics and it must be able to analyse influenza A, B and the respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) in the same reaction. The analysis must be easy to use and doctors and nurses must be able to use it in a hectic emergency department. The analysis time must be maximum 40 minutes. An option is also requested for 5 equivalent systems, as well as an option for an expansion of the system with several modules if possible.
