Description

18/SJM/116 microbioreactor. The University of Portsmouth has recently been awarded funding to set up the Centre for Enzyme Innovation. Coupled with significant investment by the University, this major funding will speed up our progress towards finding a solution to one of the worlds greatest environmental challenges plastic waste. As part of our research in this field, we require a microbioreactor to grow batches of bacterial culture as part of our discover phase of the project. We are therefore seeking to purchase an automated, microfluidic micro bioreactor capable of fed-batch fermentation. The reactor will be capable of online monitoring and adjustment of a variety of growth parameters to endure optimal efficiency and results. To express an interest in this project please register on the University of Portsmouth InTend webpage and express an interest in this project. Please find the weblink for our webpage below: https://in-tendhost.co.uk/port/ To supply and install a Microfluidic Microbioreactor to the following minimum requirements. See full specification for further details mandatory requirements supply of a microbioreactor should include delivery to location, comply with project timescales, include training, set up and installation and commissioning support. Mandatory technical specification: 1) Microtiter plate (MTP) The reactor must operate using a 48-well microtiter plate. The microtiter plate must be capable of simultaneous online measurement of several parameters including biomass, fluorescence, pH and dissolved Oxygen. The microtiter plate must be capable of simultaneous online control of pH and feeding rates using micro-valves and microfluidic channels built in to the plate. The microtiter plate must be capable of accepting a sample volume of between 800-2600 micro litres. Optical systems: the system must operate using LED filters. The filter modules included in the offer must be suitable for measurement of pH, biomass concentration, dissolved oxygen and fluorescent proteins (GFP and mCherry). Filter modules should be easily removable by the user in order to accommodate future projects. The read time must be less than 3 minutes per parameter. Online monitoring and control Microtiter plates must be pre-calibrated. Dissolved oxygen must be measurable in the range of 0-100 %. pH level must be measurable in the range of at least 5.0-7.0. System: the system must allow active control of pH levels on the MTP. The system must allow active feeding of substrate into the MTP using microfluidics. The system must include headspace sensors to monitor humidity and temperature. The system must include up and down regulators for O2 levels. The system must contain full valve control. Other The offer must include all required software for normal operation. The offer must include delivery, installation and initial user training. The offer must include a minimum of 24 months warranty. The offer must include a ‘starter pack’ of consumables.
