Framework agreement for the delivery of BACTEC blood culture products

As the extensions on the current framework agreement for the delivery of BD BACTEC blood culture bottles, delivered by Becton Dickinson Norway AS have expired, Innlandet Hospital intends to enter into a new framework agreement for the delivery of these products. The products in the framework agreement are adapted to the blood culture instruments BACTEC FX TOP, STACK and 9050, which are currently used in the laboratory departments in Lillehammer, Hamar, Elverum, Gjøvik, Kongsvinger and Tynset. Lot 1: The invitation to tender concerns a new framework agreement for the delivery of equipment specific consumables (blood culture bottles) for use in BACTEC blood culture instruments supplied by Beckton Dickinson Norway AS. Each bottle includes a chemical sensor that detects an increase in CO2, which is produced from the growth of micro-organisms. The sensor is monitored by the instrument and the results of negative blood cultures that have been incubated and blood cultures that are automatically positive are transferred via a connection to the LAB computer system CGM analytix. SI is not aware of any other products/systems that can be used in the cupboards and that fulfil the requirements for direct sample taking with standard blood sample taking adapters, as well as automatic communication with the BACTEC blood culture instruments. The contracting authority intends to enter into a new framework agreement for a period of 3 years.
