(VEAT Notice) Delivery and project management of Gaelic short-film competition

MG ALBA had published the related voluntary ex ante transparency (VEAT) notice with a view to extending the existing contract with Astar Media for the delivery and project management of a Gaelic short-film competition (“FilmG”). Justification of this intention together with full details of the contract are included within sections II.2.4 and IV.1.1 of this notice. The contract extension commenced in July 2024 for 9 months. Lot 1: MG ALBA published the related voluntary ex ante transparency (VEAT) notice with a view to extending the existing contract with Astar Media for the delivery and project management of a Gaelic short-film competition (“FilmG”). FilmG is a Gaelic short film competition promoting and encouraging all aspects of filmmaking from young people to industry professionals. Since its launch in 2008 it has been a hugely important vehicle for BBC ALBA and many of its participants have gone on to develop media careers and receive further industry recognition. This Award Notice is for the contract extension, without a call for competition, in accordance with the Public Contracts (Scotland) Regulations 2015 (regulation 72(1)(b)). Additional services have become necessary and a change of contractor would result in significant inconvenience /substantial duplication of costs for MG ALBA. The contract duration commenced in July 2024 for 9 months.
