Solihull College and University Centre is part of the consortium of FE and HE institutions forming part of The Greater Birmingham & Solihull IoT (GBSIoT). For further information about GBS IoT please refer to Section VI GBSIoT wishes to promote the sector's incredible career opportunities, particularly to the young and ethnically diverse population of Birmingham and Solihull. In particular GBSIoT wishes to target and reach under-represented and disadvantaged groups including females; people from low-income households; from neighbourhoods with low participation rates, unemployed and NEET young people. To support this ambition, GBSIoT is now looking to engage with the market in the preparation of a procurement strategy for the provision of a digital platform, using digital technology to inspire and support young people in particular, but not exclusively, to access, vocational skills opportunities related to STEM-based careers in Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering, or Digital professions. The platform needs to be live in time for a March 2023 delivery. It is currently envisaged that to allow time to tender work will not commence before October 2022 Lot 1: Development of a digital platform to support accessibility to vocational skills opportunities related to STEM-based careers in Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering, or Digital professions. Acting as a 'one stop shop' it is envisaged that the platform will incorporate a range of different interactive technological and digital experiences and content. Critically young people will need to be involved in the development and the design of the digital, careers-based online platform which will engage, motivate, enable and facilitate access to clear opportunities for progression from school to high-level occupations. Acting as a 'one stop shop' it is envisaged that the platform will incorporate a range of different interactive technological and digital experiences and content.
