Description

PISA, is an OECD study that takes place ‎every three years, beginning in 2000. It is implemented by the Educational Research Centre ‎‎(ERC), Dublin, on behalf of the Department of Education and Skills. In Ireland, 168 schools ‎across the country have been selected to take part in PISA 2015. The assessment will be ‎completed on computers and will take place in March 2015. ‎ External staff will administer the assessments. Tech support staff (TS) are responsible for ‎transporting and setting up laptops, providing technical assistance and troubleshooting during ‎the assessment, and backing-up or uploading response data. Set-up usually takes 45 minutes, and ‎the assessment takes about three and a half hours so the working day will be 8.00am to 2.00pm. ‎Depending on the requirements of each school, it is expected that a minimum of one TS will be ‎required per school. The test dates are 2nd to 26th March 2015 and there will be a maximum of 15 ‎schools tested per day.‎ The Educational Research Centre is now seeking the provision of technical support ‎services for PISA 2015. ‎ The essential requirements are:‎ ‎1.‎ Attendance at training on 23rd or 24th of February 2015‎ ‎2.‎ A high degree of confidence in working with computers; that is, familiarity with handling ‎laptops, with software installation, and with trouble-shooting ‎3.‎ Capacity to transport a set of 44 laptops, including back-ups, to and from schools and ‎take responsibility for their security during the testing period ‎4.‎ Arrival on site at 8.00am in locations throughout Ireland including some remote ‎locations.‎ Tenders should list the following ex-VAT costs per school based on one TS per school as well as ‎the cost of an additional TS per school:‎ ‎1.‎ Labour ‎2.‎ Secure transport for 44 laptops ‎3.‎ Sufficient plug adapters for 42 laptops ‎4.‎ Sufficient cable covers, approximately 4 m per set of laptops ‎5.‎ Subsistence and accommodation where appropriate.‎ Please see attached document for more deta
