The National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS), in association with the Trustees of Muckross House and the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage have acquired the property known as Friar’s Glen a former guesthouse. Planning permission has been granted to repurpose the guesthouse as an administration centre, for the NPWS, and to construct a 450sqm portal frame store adjacent to the offices.
