Meath County Council is committed to providing suitable accommodation to families with children who have lost their tenancy in the private rental sector. Family hubs are an important first response for families who become homeless and who have no alternative other than Emergency Accommodation. The hub will provide more appropriate and suitable transitional accommodation for a number of families. The hub is not a long term housing solution and the placed families will move into housing and apartment units that will be provided under social housing supports, with the aim of the placed families progressing as soon as possible from the family hub to private rented accommodation via Housing Assistance Payment scheme. This type of emergency accommodation provides a secure and stable placement for families as an interim measure. Service to be provided: Provide Furnishings including but not limited to beds, soft furnishings, white goods where required, tables , chairs kitchen equipment, dining utensils and living room furnishings: The property is currently set out as a large family residence see existing floor plan in attached appendix. The Tender is required to submit a proposal of how best the property can be operated for a minimum of 5 family units for the purpose of a family hub. Operations This family hub will have the capacity to provide self contained accommodation and communal recreation space for children. Other supports will also be available for families as they move on to other housing options, when they become available.
