Description
It is a mandatory requirement of DEFRA & DfTs Joint Air Quality Unit (JAQU) that members of the public who need to pay for a Clean Air Zone Charge do so via the governments payment portal at gov.uk/pay. Bristol City Council is required to sign up to gov.uk/pay which is a free to use service. However, the payment system cannot link in to the Council's own payment service provider or merchant account provider (neither WorldPay (outgoing) nor Civica (incoming) are compatible) and we have to accept the terms of the contract the government have negotiated on behalf of all gov.uk/pay users, which includes the use of Stripe who provide the financial services behind the payment portal. Stripe will collect all payments on BCC's behalf and will remit them directly to BCCs bank account net of their own costs
