The successful Supplier will be required to provide catering services at Mill Hill County High School, Worcester Crescent, London NW7 4LL With approximately 1 720 pupils and 150+ staff, Mill Hill County High School is a large secondary school, with academy status, and is located in Mill Hill, London, England. It was the first comprehensive school in the United Kingdom to have had a student taken on for the prestigious Morehead-Cain merit scholarship program in the United States and is an official Morehead-Cain nominating school. The OFSTED visit in March 2012 judged Mill Hill County High School as ‘good’. The first short inspection carried out since (September 2016) shows that Mill Hill County High School continues to be good. Basis of Contract The school wishes to participate in a tender process with the intention of appointing a Supplier to deliver the catering and hospitality services at the school. The contract will commence in September 2018 for 5 years and, aside from the recharge to the school for the provision of free school meals, the contract is currently operated on a profit return basis. Estimated contract revenue turnover = circa 1 300 000 GBP over 3 years. Objectives The appointed Supplier will have significant experience of delivering quality catering services within secondary school premises and should have suitable experience and expertise of successfully managing commercial style operations. With the experience of successfully managing the TUPE process, the Supplier should ideally have a strong operational base in London and the South East, together with an ambition and compelling attitude towards forging a congenial partnership with the school’s Leadership Team that stimulates a joint determination to achieve success. Ultimately, it is important that the Supplier can demonstrate integrity with an ability to manage an efficient catering service through the application of best practice and innovation and, as a result, will be expected to deliver sustainable quality and “best value” to the school.
