Summary of the work DevOps Engineer designs and implements applications' build, release, deployment and configuration activities. Transform technical requirements into an effective DevOps toolchain to enable product delivery, assure and implement deployment strategies and apply different techniques to methods in analysing and resolving problems, working up/amending new practices and procedures to improve performance. Specialist role Developer Expected Contract Length 6 months Latest start date Tuesday 20 September 2022 Maximum Day Rate £650.00 and this role sits inside IR35 regulations Who Speclialist Work With You will be working as part of an internal multidisciplinary Mobility product team within Digital Workspaces, and will have access to team members, both technical and non technical, and leadership. Key contacts would be cloud services specialists, technical architects, infrastructure engineers, delivery manager and product owners. What Specialists Work On You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team responsible for the deployment, configuration and management of multiple workspaces platform. Supporting DWP respond to a more agile workforce, improving user experience, and increasing productivity across a variety of device platforms and sizes. You will provide a fundamental design and implementation function and be responsible for design and implementation of Infrastructure services in collaboration with Architecture and Engineering principles. DevOps engineer will transform technical requirements into an effective DevOps toolchain enabling product delivery, assuring and implementing deployment strategies. Improving or adding new practices and procedures to improve performance. Skills & Experience • Experience working with immutable infrastructure, version control, infrastructure as code, and containerisation tools such as git, terraform, ansible, and docker. • Experience in AWS cloud hosting (EC2, auto scaling groups and rules, security groups, IAM roles and policies, load balancing, target groups, CloudWatch and CloudTrail). • A good understanding of IPv4 and IPv6 networking with the ability to diagnose, define and implement DNS and routing changes effectively in a zero trust architecture. • Experience with building and operating highly secure available solutions, demonstrated through effective chaos engineering (e.g. chaos toolkit). • Experience with enterprise system monitoring tools like Datadog, Dynatrace, or Splunk. • Extensive experience of working with Windows Server and PowerShell. • Experience with CI/CD tools Nice to Haves • Experience with Azure cloud hosting • Experience with GitLab Work Location Manchester HUB 2 St Peter’s Square | Manchester - M2 3AA Working Arrangments Working arrangements will be a blend of remote working and working from the Manchester HUB site, you will spend roughly 40% of your time onsite and 60% at home.
