Design and Build Contract for a Reserved Canopy Specialist – Carlow Town URDF Project

Carlow County Council is currently seeking to appoint a specialist contractor to design, fabricate, and install a bespoke canopy structure as part of the Carlow Town URDF project. No main contractor has been appointed at this stage. The canopy contractor will be reserved for inclusion in the future main construction contract and is expected to be novated to the main contractor upon their appointment (anticipated Q1 2026), in line with OGP Guidance Note 2.3.3: Specialists and the Public Works Contracts. Please note that award of works under this contract is not guaranteed and remains subject to confirmation of URDF funding. The purpose of this early procurement is to ensure a high-quality canopy structure is developed by a specialist with proven design-and-build capability.
