20367 - Empty Property Renovations

Description

The Council has statutory duties to provide housing & homelessness accommodation to those individuals in housing need. The Council is under acute human and financial pressure to deliver a raft of measures to alleviate the growing chasm in affordable housing delivery demand and supply Over the course of the past 16 months, the Council has acquired a number of empty properties through various mean, to refurbish beyond the decent home standards to provide much needed accommodation within our temporary accommodation service. A full refurbishment programme is required to bring each property above the decent homes' standard. Each property has aa schedule of works provided that have been produced by a RICS qualified surveyor. Each property includes but (not limited too): - Existing floor layouts Proposed floor layouts (if applicable) A full schedule of works Window and door schedules (if applicable) Other documents to assist with providing quote (structural reports where issues identified). The Council request costs based on each schedule of works to provide both cost for overall refurbishment but also based on each individual property.
